Itunes Duplicate Files

Hi, I've copied my iTunes to a new PC and I'm getting lots of duplicate files. I've read that 'consolidating' the files within iTunes will sort it out, however when I do that it says 'failed - the file name was invalid or too long". Can anyone please help?!

Thanks very much, I managed to fix that and consolidate them all. However, now I still have duplicate files, because it created a copy with '1' following the song filename, and all those are shown in iTunes with an exclamation mark. I want to delete them all but there are thousands?!

I wouldn't touch iTunes with an infinite number of the proverbial bargepoles, so I've no knowledge about how it stores files.  However, if they're simply regular Windows files, AllDup should help you locate and delete your duplicates:
