There was question on The Chase about what you call an item on the head rest of an old chair to prevent it being soiled by cream...does anybody know what it is called ?

Antimacassar, I grew up with them

We had matching arm caps.

 

I still use them on my leather three-piece suite. Not that we use hair oil but I don't want greasy marks on my lovely chairs and couch.
