Just been having a clear out and discovered a number of old £20 notes which are obviously well out of date now. Is there any way I can change them at this stage or have I missed all opportunities by now?

From the Bank of England website:https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/exchanging-old-banknotes

Take then to a bank where you have an account and ask

The notes bear the signature of the Chief Cashier of the Bank of England and the words "I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of twenty pounds", so there is definitely a method to get your money for them. I would start at your local branch and they should sort you out.

Thank you all for the advice. Feel a little more relived. Will try tomorrow either at post office or bank and let you know how I got on.

Went to post office round the corner this morning after reading Chris advice link and lady put the old notes straight into my bank account in a few seconds. Such a relief! Pleased I didn't have to venture in to town to the bank itself.

Thanks for all the help.
