import more migrant builder to build more homes, are these migrant builders going to buy the homes they help build, so as thye have somewhere to live? and the million who have arrived since last year as well, and the indigenous who need homes, ludicrous pie in the sky, need to lower the population really.

Meanwhile in the UK we have something like 800,000 NEETS(youngsters between the ages of 18 and 25 who arent either in training or in education or are in employment),maybe its me,but shouldnt we use these people before importing people from abroad?

Well I hope they come soon as I'm getting sick and tired of all the Drs, teachers, engineers, scientists and nurses that are coming by the boats.

 

Personally I'd much prefer more young men fleeing 'dangerous' places to come here and to either disappear into the black economy or become drug dealers and rapists.

Its not just that sandy.My company has to employ Nigerian students to do menial work,meanwhile lots of these NEETS wandering about Aberdeen streets claiming disability benefits because they have"mental health"issues.Aye,right.

Builders are not unskilled.

It is about time that equal weight and educational funding was given to people who are better suited to produce quality products or services with their hands rather than their heads.

Having recently spent time having to wrangle the problems caused by immigrant builders, I am concerned that SKS call for more of them is going to cause mayhem, certainly in the building trade and definitely in greater society.

As i said jack,surely we should be trying to train our own rather than wanting to import chancers pretending to be"skilled"workers,most of whom have never done a days work in their worthless lives.

Better still train the young unemployed to be the builders they need, rather than cause more issues short-circuiting the labour market by nicking builders from other nations.

i agree apprenticeships are the way to go, i remember under thatcher there were colleges that taught bricklaying plumbing plastering welding etc, but they were discontinued ? bad idea. they should bring them back, im sure there are fair few retired who could teach there skills if they wanted to, and of course unemployed builders etc, learn a skill for life, as my dad used to say with knowledge you could go around the world.
