Good god, it's sunny!! We actually have a glimpse of blue sky, no wind and no rain! (I've probably jinxed it now lol)

Had a nice weekend, got our Xmas tree bought and up on Saturday, which I love doing. Then yesterday I went thru my list  of what Xmas presents I actually still need to buy. I'd actually bought slightly more than I'd thought so it isn't too bad. Wrote some card out which I'll post today. Then have 2 deliveries this morning shopping wise - one between 8 and 10, and one this afternoon. Lots of work to do and a couple of orders that I cannot deliver till after 6pm tonight. So a busy day in general.

What about everyone else? Are we up to anything, or a chilled day indoors?x

We had a beautiful day yesterday after the storm, but dull at the moment.  I must get some more cards, and need to get some euros to send to Goddaughter for Christmas present and hope it gets there in time. I knew I had some in the drawer but found they were all very large notes, normally we go out in October and I buy something there and leave it with grandma and granddad.

Have to hope that Sainsburys will come up trumps.

Morning ubasses, hope you are well? How old is god daughter? This year I'm buying a present each(my 4 children, and partners) then giving them some money each but instead of posting money, I've got some of those gift envelopes that u put money in to give them, and I'll write a little note saying how much etc & I'll then send it by bank transfer.

Morning Smow, ubasses and all to follow. Blue sky here this morning hooray, long may it continue. OH is meeting a friend he has known since school days for lunch in a near- by village. He has found a route that is passable after Darragh so that should be ok. I need to order some small opening gifts for older and a memorial gift for younger son. I thought I might try to get a tree planted in his name. I am dreading Christmas and cry whenever I think about it, but this first one has to be got through, hopefully subsequent ones will be easier.

Sorry to put a damper on what should be a light and breezey start to the day

Take care and keep warm

Good morning all...grey here after a good amount of blue sky yesterday. At least the wind has lessened.

I was wakened by the postie with one of my daughter's presents. She'd asked for 'strong smelling' talcum powder. After searching on Amazon I found handmade dusting powder...in a little gold box with a powder puff...plus a free sample. I can smell it from across the room. One more pressie to buy and I should be done.

I've got my Sainsbury's order between 7 - 8pm. One item missing...the puppy pads I put under the litter tray...so I'll need to find them in town tomorrow. I'm stocking up on cat supplies for while I'm away over Christmas. I expect I might be in London or on my way by this time next week...depends on when my daughter and her partner come down to collect me.

A hug to you Rosetta ((())).

Morning pasta, I've got zero sense of smell and it doesn't usually bother me too much, but when it's times like Christmas I really miss the smell of so many things.....😥

Rosetta, I don't know the circumstances of the loss of your son but am also sending you a huge hug in what must be a very difficult time at the moment. You're bearing up so well xx

Good morning all, quite a dull day here but warmer and no rain. Going to my monthly book club this afternoon, hopefully I can get there as quite a lot of big branches/trees came down round here over the weekend. But the binmen have been this am so am hopeful. Also need to post my Xmas cards which I wrote yesterday and buy some more stamps. Cannot get over the price of postage and they were 2nd class. As my friend wrote in her card she is thinking of not sending cards next year but composing something on the computer which she can email to everyone. Quite a good idea I thought, then you can print it out if you want.

Morning calda. Yep the price of postage is absolutely insane -  just for posting 10 card 1st class it will be £16.50!! Just 10 cards - how mad is that!

Why are you posting cards on the 9th December first class?!

Question Author

Hi brainiac. I'm not lol - I'm gona post 2nd class. Just saying how much it would be.

Ah good - hate to see people wasting money!

Question Author

Think 2nd class is almost 50% cheaper, or not far off anyway!

Hi again, goddaughter is 7, have another one who is 44 but she is in UK making things easier.  We have committed to sending little one 100Euro every birthday until she is 18, so gets less at Christmas. Prefer to get a present but did not get out to visit this year due to house move.
