watched johnny and the bomb yesterday and the tubby kid kept starting a joke "this piece of string walked into a pub..." and it's been annoying the hell out of me. what's the punchline?

thats the fella, the string is scraggy and tied in the middle, asks the barman if they serve bits of string and he says...a frayed knot !

The barman says he doesn't serve string, so the string returns tied up in the middle and ragged at the ends.

When the Barman asks him if he is a piece of string?the string replies, "No, frayed Knot".
