Sugar Puff urine
11 Answers
Occasionally, my urine smells like Sugar Puffs. It's that distinctive whiff that you get when you open the packet- a sweet, wheaty aroma. The thing is, I haven't eaten Sugar Puffs in years, so what's causing it? I'd love to know. Anyone else had this situation, or know the cause?

It's not a regular thing, maybe once or twice a year, but friends have had it too but none of us know what it is. I'm not in any way bothered about it, I've just got my curious head on today and thought the mighty Answerbank would come to my rescue!
GO TO YOUR GP! It sounds like a symptom of diabetes which can be very dangerous if left undiagnosed. It needs investigating properly, and a one off sugar level testing wouldn't be reliable to rule it out. Other symptoms can include excessive thirst, urine frequencyand your breath may smell like peardrops. I'm not saying you are a diabetic, but you really must rule it out esp if its in your family and/or you are overweight,
In the old days, the only way for a physician to test for diabetes would be to drink (or taste rather) his patients p*ss, if they still did that now, I'd tell my GP I think I have diabetes even if I didn't notice anything (he's very annoying you see). Don't worry about it too much, just go and see your GP as soon as possible just in case.
Who ARE you lot? The scare police? ;)
Nah, I'm only joking. There's no history of diabetes in my immediate family. A half cousin has it but as far as I'm aware, he's the only one in my family. I'm early 30s and not overweight. I like a drink but that's my only vice. I may well get an MOT at the doctor's though, just to be sure.
