This year will be immortalised as one of the greatest of all weather years for the coldest (best winter) this century.
According to webpage from Dundee university

However I suspect that it may depend upon where in theworld you are talking about.

I seem to remember that 1982-3 winter was reported as the coldest for 100 years. I think the temperature was about -26 degrees at Shawbury.
