Has anyone unravelled the fiendish Araucaria's 7d? The solution is just under 100 letters in length so it is rather too long to put here. Anyone with the paper will know what I mean. A hint would be gratefully received!

Clues all relate to a song which goes like this---


Last night as I lay on my pillow


Last night as I lay on my bed


Last night as I lay on my pillow


I dreamed that my bonnie was dead

Araucaria is really the King of crossword setters and the only reason I still take the Guardian!

Clues like that are rarely as difficult as they seem at first sight. You just need to get a little bit of them from crossing clues (or in this case duplicate clues for bits of them), look at the word length pattern and as often as not you are there.


In this case the anagram of BY DEMON = ON MY BED set off a chain of thought that allowed one simple google to confirm and complete the answer for me.


Working out how the compiler got there is another matter......
