Brilliant - thanks !

just a thought, why did a man who lived in Sherwood forest Nottingham wear Lincoln Green? Also why is a new airport in south Yorkshire called robin Hood airport?

In answer to 'jan 1956',

Sherwood Forest used to stretch all the way to Lincoln that is where the connection is

Robin of Loxley aka 'Robin Hood' was a Yorkshireman.(hence the airport name)

Hi jan1956, I looked up some Robin Hood facts and found connections to Barnsdale and Doncaster are mentioned in some stories. Robin Hood Airport serves Lincoln buts that a weak link!
talking about airports, why is EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT called nottingham EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT, its in Leicestershire and near to Derby, who would want to be associated with nottingham

Olivia, here are some facts about East Midlands Airport, it was renamed Nottingham East Midlands Airport in 2004 it's in Leicestershire, has a Derbyshire postcode and telephone number. The nearest city is Derby . The reasoning behind the name change was that many people from outside the UK and unfamiliar with the country's geography, could not identify with the term 'East Midlands' and understandably did not know exactly where in the UK it was. This is the argument for adding 'Nottingham' to the name, Nottingham is the administrative 'capital' of the East Midlands region and secondly, the city had greater international recognition through its size and historical connections. This theory was disputed when the BBC's local news program East Midlands Today travelled to Amsterdam. Whilst there they asked locals the location of Nottingham on a map of the UK.The vast majority failed.Source:- Answers.com

I don't think you can judge a place by it's press coverage but sadly it's getting bad press at the moment.
