Does anybody know how the Polly Peck company got it's name

the original logo was either a macaw or a parrot maybe the name is connected to the logo, there is quite a lot of gen regarding the firm and its legal problems on the web

Named after Polly Peck, who invented the stocking in 1876, Polly was an apprentice to Nancy Nylon. Between them they created an empire which included 'Stockings R Us' and 'Tights and Spenders'
