Petulant - Sulky

Petulant = Moped

Industriousness = Diligence

Push in = Steamroller?
Better is Push in = Barge

Sulky seems better than Moped(?)

Sounds like ... = Rattler?

Transport for undergraduate: there are several trainer aircraft; Avro TUTOR (inter-war), Airspeed OXFORD (30s-40s), Boulton Paul BALLIOL (late '40s) etc or... Dohhh!, just realised - Morris OXFORD or Austin CAMBRIDGE cars - maybe you could claim several valid points for this question??
