Two and a half hours on a train from Paddington the compiler has to change at a station from which a 10 minutes' trundle gets him to Torquay. I can't puzzle out the name of this station. Can, our usually well-informed long-legged wader friend, Avocet, or anyone else please help?

With many thanks for you kind attention.

It could be Torre.
Some trains from Paddington, London to Penzance stop at Newton Abbot, then change to the local train service to Torre, Torquay and Paignton.

The GLBY, Shaney -for constantly being on alert and ready to help. I guessed Newton Abbot but had no idea of the "10 minute trundle"

The last time I was in Torquay was the other day -in 1951!!!

Thanks again, Lm

Definitely not Torre - that's only a two or three minute journey. More than likely Newton Abbot - ten or eleven minutes according to National Rail Enquiries.
Yes leo ..Jenny is right ... I had no idea how long the journey times were. Never having been there !! Blame Mr:S ...he gave me this info !
