I know a nine-year-old who has great difficulty concentrating. He can't sit still for one moment and his school work is suffering.

Are there any fun games and activities I can suggest to them to help his concentration?

Thanks in advance

after reading all the research into Omega 3 he may benefit from taking it. Ive heard nothing bad about it, it may be worth a try.

Since they are nine I doubt whether they will have much time/scope to play games with him but he can certainly do games at home. Find a particular interest and mould a game around that. He is more likely to concentrate if he has an interest! Pairs is a good game where you have to remember where cards are and turn over a matching pair. I work one-to-one in primary school and you get better results if you can make the cards yourself with something of interest on them.

It has also been recently suggested that computer games are very beneficial for ADHD as the child is able to concentrate as many games are very hypnotic and the child is not distracted by their own thoughts or surrounding events.

The school should have a SENCO who will know the child more and may be able to offer resources or suggestions.

Good luck!

I also meant to say that quite often diet plays a HUGE part and getting him food tested at a health food shop might just be the best 50 spent - certainly was for my nephew!
Have you tried playing Battleships? It's a tricky one for my 7year old but your 9 year old may enjoy it.
