Moonscape. Have a great weekend Wendy - like you I'm still on the Matlock trail. Boot458 - that was a good answer, well worth * * * !
These had ALL been answered previously!!!

wendyl. You deserve an explanation, now that the answers to the Matlock Quiz have been submitted.

It was clear that the clues causing the most difficulty were Qs 88, 89 and 92. Any success solving these were likely winners. Well, there was a stroke of luck with Q88 "A beaked Galley (DRAKE), a goad (STING) and the ninth hour .... (NOON) and stir" finally led to KENSINGTON ROAD.

Although I did not wish to go public with the answer, I felt that burgess and johnalex had worked tirelessly on the Quiz and you had acted as hostess to our ramblings for several days, that I would wish to explain why your posting would suddenly go dead!

For what it's worth "A belated thanks for letting us borrow your site"!

Question Author
Crofter am happy to be a 'hostess' anytime. I am afraid I was unable co answer rather more than the 3 questions mentioned even with help from burgess johnalex and others. My congratulations to anyone who answered a majority never mind correctly. No way am I a football fan but hope Matlock club made a profit as well as providing a good deal of entertainment on AB. Have requested answers so will be studying them with interest.
Regards and good luck to you all

wendyl If any of your solutions need explaining, then any one of those named below will only be too pleased to assist! Regards - crofter
