I don't think ivory is correct, as gold is AU not OR.

juliely Don't discard IVORY too quickly. Five-lettered gemstones are difficult to find. Okay, Au is the chemical symbol for Gold - but OR is used in heraldry for the colour gold and both versions are used in cryptic clues!


If you read the clue as "Gold in ivy" you get "OR in IVY" and IVORY drops out! At least give it a little more thought. Good luck!
