17 If you go to Wikipedia and look at their article on Holy Roman Empire that should produce a result. It's been a while but think I found it there first.

54 Google pureed onions, bechamel and that should do it. Then check your answer by googling "your answer" etymology

92 I just looked up Siegfried Bettmann

95 again I typed in the name listed and I remember not finding answer so I just deleted a word and tried again. I don't remember in which order.

148 again I just used clues in question. 20 miles south Shrewsbury castle or something like that.

148 - a road atlas showing historic sites should narrow this one down...
