Stuck on the last one AGAIN!


Pearce could be jolly active in second leg (7)


MO?RMA?


Only thing I can turn up is MOORMAN, but have no clue whether this is correct or why. My thanks in advance for any useful suggestions.

The answer is MOORMAN = dweller on the moor, but why Pearce is beyond me!


HOWEVER - jolly = Royal Marine (RM) active = A ... second = MO ...leg = ON (side in cricket?).


Now place the first two elements inside the latter two !!

puzzled and crofter, I think the Pearcr is Tom Pearce and the reference is to Uncle Tom cobbley a well known song relating to Dartmoor.Hope this throws some light.Jetski
