Yes, I agree - MM does ask for plural (twice). Either a mistake or there is an answer beyond me. Time will tell!

I always thought the black wire was Negative, the opposite of Positive. I wonder if they've made a mistake in the puzzle, but then again I'm no electrician so obviously Neutral must be correct as it fits in.

To be precise, Porilo, because the UK mains use alternating current, you don't have a positive and negative wire as such. They are generally referred to as Live (coloured red or brown), Neutral (black or blue) and Earth (green or green and yellow). The first colours are the old system, the second the new (I was going to say the current!) system.
