2 is Laburnum (not the greatest clue but: musical note = la; char(red) = burn; hesitation = um)

Just had another look at Q1! Taking "Boy" = LES and "Trap" = NET could lead to NET(T)LES.(?)

I don't know if Herbs are included, being plants I was thinking BENNET.

Nice one valerie. There are pros and cons with both BENNET and NETTLES - difficult to choose!
