wikipedia has a list of coinage, you could try there
middle ages ladies headpiece. Whimple.Place in Devon.

Mediaeval currency - there's a Mark in Somerset, but as far as I remember, the English mark was an accounting sum rather than a coin, and equal to 13s4d, ie 160 pence... maybe the question setter got a bit mixed up?


(I remember Whimple, patsyann - my dad used to play cricket against them. We also had a school outing to Whiteways Cider there - weren't allowed any samples but the fumes in the brewery pretty well did the job anyway!...)

...just found a website referring to a 14th-century 'rose noble' coin worth "10s or 200 pence", so that looks like someone else mixed up...
