When I got to the question, there was no answer there and I worked out what it was. Immediately before typing it in, I decided to do a quick refresh and there, out of the blue, was your response. For the questioner's benefit, I thought I'd add the extra information. My apologies if you felt I was trying to teach my granny to suck eggs!
By the way, Polly, 'leylandii' isn't a plural, so 'tree' - singular - was quite correct. It is short for 'cupressocyparis leylandii', the last word meaning 'of Leyland' and referring to the British horticulturalist, C Leyland.
