I sometimes use this funny old technique for crosswords when I'm stuck - it's called 'put-it-aside-and have-another-look-later'... and is a good way to learn how to do them... RT22 has only just appeared and the closing date is June 6!

I'm probably going to get slagged off for this, but seriously...

mike b, I agree. The method you describe was the only method available pre-Answerbank and Google. Surely these excellent facilities should be used as a last resort. I wonder if some people think that all the winners are chosen from the first entries received. I doubt this.

I'm also curious as to why some members add "last one"," last two" etc: Can anyone explain?
