1. A fortified manor house on a rectangular platform (5)

2. An Elizabethian artillery fort (5)

3. An unusual looking castle with just two adjacent towers (9)

4. Almost every writer call this a fairy-tale castle (10)

5. The second castle built by Edward 1 when he moved here from Chester (8)

5. Anglesey Castle

! - could be Hever

2 - sounds like Upnor - most of the Tudor forts were built under Henry VIII rather than Bess...

5 sounds more like Rhuddlan, the first being Flint (don't think there is an Anglesey Castle so called...)
4 Try Craigievar, Grampian - horrible pinkish job if you ask me, but one of my ref books used the word 'fairytale' and so did a couple of websites when I checked it out...
