Name that bird again!
3 Answers
It looks like a washed out sepia photo of a chaffinch, cream underneath and pale beige on top, with white flashes on its wings. It also has two darker beige stripes over the top of its head. Same build and beak shape as chaffinch. I've looked on the Net (bird books all packed ready to move house) and haven't seen anything that looks pale enough. The other birds don't give it a hard time so I assume it's not a mutation of some sort?

What birds is it seen with, and is it on the ground or a pirching bird? That could narrow it down a bit.
No, not discounted it, but don't know how pale they get though - all the pics I've seen of female chaffinches are too dark, especially on the wings and tail. Ditto chiffchaff, haven't looked up wood warbler yet. It's almost pinky nougat beige, doesn't tend to hang around with any particular birds, and hops about on the ground or perches on the bird feeder - I haven't seen it hanging off the fat ball.
