just wondering if any one can recommend a nice beach in wales, where me and a few mates can go for just the day! preferably not too far away from hereford(hometown). particularly interested in less popular beaches!! any input would be great, thanx!
Three Cliffs & Llangennith on the Gower are both lovely, but don't exactly fit your criteria of 'less popular'....still thye are hardly ram packed, due to there being plenty of space.
llangennith is always pretty busy but its great if you're beach bums wanting to surf or bodyboard etc and camp for a night or two. popular with youngsters doing exactly that.....neigbouring broughton is usually a little quieter but both these beaches are a fair size so its not like you'll be fighting for sand space! Rhosilli is also close by and always voted in the top 5 best beaches. Roger also mentioned Three Cliffs which is ace. A lot of people dont know its there as you cant drive to it. Its quite a walk down to that one but worth at as its never overcrowded. There are a lot of similar little beaches along the Gower coast. A little closer to Hereford are the beaches around the Porthcawl area particularly at Dunraven and Southerndown

If you want to go north, Tremadoc Bay has some lovely beaches - Black Rock Sands or Criccieth for example - but like all the others, they're not exactly "less popular".
thanx for all your answer!! went to caswell bay and three cliffs bay today!! really good, the weather was slightly dissapointing, but the beaches were excellent! three cliffs bay really is a long walk, im knackered now!! will definatly try some other beaches around that area next time!
