28. The answer to the question is golf (gentlemen only, ladies forbidden) but it is a complete load of cobblers. The word golf is thought, with very good reason, to have its origins in a dutch word. The acronym story is bunkum, and I nearly sank my niblick into my mate's skull when he came out with that rubbish t'other week in the 19th!
