I have the distinct feeling that I've no idea where I'm going & wasting a lot of time doing it !!! so something to start me in the right direction would be much appreciated

Can you help with 32a Highland divination - at Eas a' Chaul -a-h-i-m?
( all I can find is that it is the highest waterfal in the UK!)

32A is TAGHAIRM - apparently it means
...(in the Scottish Highlands) divination; esp inspiration sought by lying in a bullock's hide behind a waterfall!
