12 Days of Christmas response
8 Answers
Here is a seasonal one! A few years ago I heard this thing on the radio which was a response from the recipient of all the gifts in the Christmas song. It was in the form of a letter after each gift from the 'true love', so it starts of romantic and friendly and gradually builds to increduality (along the lines of 'I suppose 10 lords a leaping is your idea of a joke')
It is very funny but I haven't a clue who wrote it. Any ideas?

Thanks Spudqueen. I followed your link then googled "chrsitmas countdown Frank Kelly" and ended up here http://www.monologues.co.uk/Parodies/Twelve_Da ys_of_Christmas.htm
which has the lyrics I was after.
Isn't t'internet wonderful! I owe you a pint.

Are you sure you're not thinking of "Yet Another Partridge In A Pear Tree" by Brian Sibley, performed immaculately by the splendid Penelope Keith? For my money that knocks the Kelly thing into the proverbial cocked hat; it's witty, urbane, sophisticated - everything the Kelly offering isn't. I'm sure if you Google for it you'll find a full text somewhere.
