Name of a TV comedy series

I am unable to find the name of a show, which I believe aired around the last 80's or early 90's. It was an American show which had a guy wearing black leather motorcycle gear, riding around on a Harley Davidson.

He used to solve crimes and it was completely spoof type stories, funny as hell! All I remember was he used to ride off on his bike in the opening or ending credits, looking cool but then get hit by a big lorry head on!

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called! I know it's not the Highwayman, which is more serious action series.

Didn't realise it was a comedy though - at least not an intentional one.

I looked at Renegade and it definately wasn't that one.

All I remember was he used to have crazy sound effects everytime he looked around in a serious closeup type of way. Very funny show but may have only run for one series...

No, I have just ordered that on DVD and know it definately wasn't that.

I know it existed as I clearly remember one episode where he was on a roof top, chasing some bad guy and as he moved around looking left and right, they were using this silly 'swishing' effect!

You've nailed it!! This is exactly what the show was called and looking at the link, it describes it perfectly (including all the funny sound effects!).

What can I say, you're legends for finding this out [biggest round of applause].

I can now go hunting to see if it is available on dvd or something.....

Ahhhhh.....now I know the name of the show, do you think I can find a copy anywhere....NO!! Strangely there is someone selling a copy on Ebay.com (US site) but they only post inside the US (I'm based in the UK obviously!).

Can't believe I'm this close to seeing it but am unable to get my hands on it.... :O(

So sad to finally find out what the title is and then not be able to get it...mind you...if it were available in Canada...I'm sure that some one would help you get it...we're like that you know...if only there was someone in the US who would be willing to help you...there must be a nice person down there some where...nudge nudge wink wink say no more..LOL
