number that spots on opposite sides of a die add up to ? i don't get the question , never mind the answer! can anyone enlighten me, any help very much appriciated.
a die (old-fashioned singular of dice) has a 1 on the opposite face to the 6 (ie when the 6 is on top the 1 is face down on the table), 2 is opposite 5 and 3 is opposite 4. So the opposite faces add up to 7.
Still on the subject of dice, a few weeks ago I picked up a die with the numbers 2/4, 8/16, and 32/64 on opposite faces.
Can anyone give me any idea as to the use of this item, please?
Thank you both, alanogden and Don Duq for your info about the backgammon doubling die. This is something I have not heard of before. We can always learn something new ,via AB, can't we?
