So there should be something amongst that lot.
Afraid I can't give you advice on presentations - try 'googling' that, as well. I think dzug's given you some great ideas, just keep it light hearted.
I think I read somewhere that the majority of paper clips are never used for clipping paper together. I know in my office, it seems every time I go to pick up a clip, someone has used it to make a 'daisy chain' and I finish up with a string of about two dozen of them.
Best of luck with your presentation.

I once went for a job as a sales rep and the guy asked me to sell him a pen,,, 'what sort of money is it worth?' i asked.
'20p' said the interviewer, i threw it towards him and said 'it's yours'... I got the job and it was a good story to tell down the pub, you never know, you might get away with it. The guy was a nutter though, that did help.

No - cos of the size
You could mention that computers and emails have drastically reduced the use of paperclips. Maufacturers have tried to increase sales by offering them in pretty colours, but it hasn't worked too well. Your Power-Point presentation is a case in hand - if your notes were on paper, you might be using paperclips!
A paperclip could be compared to a toothpick, not much value in itself - but it has helped manking for a long time. If You could think of a similar item that is extremely cheap and everyone in the world would feel compelled to buy it, and patent it, you wouldn't need the interview - you'debe a millionaire.
Paperclips have been used as earscratchers, paperhole punches, open a CD tray on the computer, bag ties, etc etc.
Good luck with the application.

I had to do a similar presentation once as apart of a group.... we decided it was one of the most usitile office items ever, be it as a last minute earring, a hook for Christmas decorations, a fish hook, fuse wire, shoe dog-poo remover, toothpick, screwdriver... the possibilites are endless, and each paperclip is cleverly designed to fit neatly in a purse or wallet!
