Thanx for the cat answers puzzled54 and YvonneM

I'm 99% sure on those letters teacher1 cos all other answers are in and I've double checked those that affect it.

This is annoying me now - What are the clues that give you the g,i and s?
Question Author
Well this is a complicated format for this crossword. Each clue contains a definition of the answer but also a letter mix of the answer straddling more than one word but never 'touching' the definition. eg. 'Fat Pierre measures border'. Answer PERIMETER being defined by 'border' and the letters can be seen from the T to the first E in 'measures', all mixed up.
My clue is 'Not for big Asian temple'. By deduction given the letters i have I am assuming the definition word is 'Temple'.
But I may be barking completely up the wrong tree here teacher1
I think the answer is " against ". The clue being " not for ".
What crossword is this? It seems interesting.

Yep - you're spot on there teacher1. Thanx for that, I was obviously going along the wrong lines.
It's actually in a union magazine my husband gets every quarter. There are always 3 different crosswords all with unusual type clues, that's why I like it so much. One has this type of clue, one has like a story with missing words to find with clues, and the third has misprints in the clues, (although the clues still make sense), and the letters that are wrong in them all spell out a phrase that is given at the top. It normally takes me a while to finish them, but this is the first time i've been stumped!
Thanks again for your help.
