The new James Bond film

Im a little confused with regards to this movie.It is the 1st James Bond story yet it is set in the present day.He has not yet earned his '00' status at the beginning of the movie so where does this sit within the whole JB series ie are we supposed to forget all the previous movies ?

Contrary to what you may believe Matt but the James Bond films are........wait for it.........you may have to sit down...........not real life!

Using your logic when Bond turns up at the baddies secret headquarters pretending to sell tractor parts the first security guard who sees him will think "Hey wait a minute thats that James Bond fella out of them films and he is in fact a British spy and doesnt really work for a tractor manufacturer - lets get him!"

The films makers, perhaps foolishly, do expect you to suspend belief when you enter the cinema. Its a film Matt, not a documentary! : )

Casino Royal was, I think, the fist book written that featured James Bond, and the film is basically restarting the James Bond story.

Let's face it, the first film was made in 1962, so how could any of the Bonds still be the same man.

As gary boldy says, you will have had to suspend your disbelief with all of the Bond films to date, as the actor's are replaced as they get older.

I do like a good James Bond film as it happens Matt.
As it is, I would have given a constructive answer to your question but to be honest i couldnt think of one so gave a sarcastic one instead.

Note to gary - The badies won't think 'that's that James Bond fella' because it's a different actor this time, they wouldn't of seen this guy playing James Bond before (unless they'd seen the trailer).
