Job description: "This is a part time post working 34 hours per week for 48 weeks per year. Salary range 13,524 - 15,133 per annum, pro rata".

So how much is that a week/month/year? Maths is my weakest point! (And no, the job has nothing to do with numbers or maths, before anyone asks!)

260 if you go by the lowest amount of 13524 I think it's devided by 52 weeks instead of the 48
Question Author
So that's 260 a week?
How many hours is a full time week?
13,524 divide by 52.14wks (.14 not that important! LOL)
This gives you the weekly amount 260 assuming 37hrs per week and working for the 52 weeks.

The hourly rate is 260/37 = 7.02

7.02 multiplied by 34 hrs x 48 weeks gives you your annual gross of 11,456.

11,456/52.14 = 220 gross per week!

I think!!! LOL

It should be salary x 48/52 times 34/full time hours per week. You need to know what a full week is to work out the answer.

Thanks all. So long as it's over 200 a week I'll be happy!
Ah, but don't forget that if you're taking a part time job where the full time annual holiday allowance is 25 days, your holiday allowance will be pro-rata'd downwards as well.

But don't ask me to work that out for you as my maths are obviously as bad as yours !!
I can see what Wendy S. It might be worth checking with regards the holidays because it sounds like you will get 4 weeks unpaid leave.

It's in a university so that could well be the case, allowing for the different academic semesters etc. I'll chect that out, thanks
