has anyone solved the anagrams:- RID BUNK PARADES. somewhere near Oxford WHY CONTROL ROUND TAT. near Coventry they can be places of interest or villages etc.
do I take it burgess that it is OK to request help on the Matlock quiz? After recent complaints that puzzlers are asking for answers too early!!. I have spent a good deal of time on this quiz - quite enjoyed it but have reached a bit of a stalemate especially with the anagrams a bit of help might get me started again!! Anyway perhaps the club would like a bit of publicity which might encourage more to enter. Certainly this is how I first heard about it (about 4 quizzes ago,
Wendyl, I try not to ask too early, and so far the only request I have made relates to the two anagrams, however I am struggling with certain clues, in particular 60, 62, 64, 65 and 66 all of which must be in the Stratford upon Avon area
Russ Bee,
the cryptic clues around Stratford upon Avon are:-
57. Water course; perfume seller, possibly Avon Centre
58. To disturb, a spiky shoot, note, belongs to; coming into the world, a portion of space
60. Add a question to a quiet aquatic fish eating carnivore.
62. This looks like it belongs to a magician's trick; tract of land.
64. Break pub in Shakespear land.
65. Walkway not too high
66. Take to droop and to draw near and stir.
A few more than originally mentioned but all in the same area
thanks for any help
