Would someone kindly Aber please give me the correct spelling of 7D Palaeon ???logy. I don't have a Chambers and am finding different spellings which are knocking out my answers to 23A and 18A.

have you tried http://www.onelook.com/
you can put in the letters you know and a ? for the ones you dont if there are more than a page of possibilities you can use a word from the clue to narrow the search

Thanks Jan. I do have that site in my favourites. The problem was that the square between the O of 33A and 35A came out of the printer as white instead of black so we had one too many letters for 7D and of course no spelling did fit. Don't know what happened. My bro-in-law who is working in UK scans it and sends it to us every Sunday. Something went wonky in cyberspace. It was only after shaneystar2 gave us the correct spelling that we noticed. We did have 33 and 34 answered, but sometimes clues run into each other and this time we didn't spot that these ones shouldn't have.
