No no, poorclare - if somebody does not do ANYTHING to help themselves, there is no way they can justify asking and getting answers from others. If this person wins, it will make a mockery of the competition - if you can answer none of a competition's questions yourself, you most certainly do not deserve to win.
I aree with what you say goldenfield, but we didn't know that there were only 7 questions. It is not a quiz that I do, so I assumed that these were ones that they needed help with. If I had known they were the only ones I would not have answered them. I come on this site because I enjoy it and I like helping when I can. And that is what I did helped, if this person comes asking for help again I will think twice about giving it.
strap12345 did NOT ask for the answers to any OTHER
competition in that magazine, the closing date I
believe is 26th or 28th, if they do not live on the main
land the chances of their entry arriving on time is
very slim, besides we don't know the reason for them
having to ask.
Its nice to be nice if you don't want to answer don't
answer.
But we DO know there were only seven questions, JimJools - the first letters of each of the linking words spell out the word LULLABY, as above. Even if there had been just eight, and the poster had failed to get seven of them, I would not have said anything as at least some effort would have been made. I am most certainly not arguing against people trying to help others as I myself do try to help on those odd occasions I can; but I just cannot sit by and say nothing while somebody is so lazy as not to make any effort but still expects somebody to GIVE all the answers to them. All the best (and good luck in the quizzes and puzzles you do).
Not the point, poorclare. If a child from next door came to you and asked you to answer ten mathematical questions for them, it would not be right to do so if they had obviously made no effort to answer the questions themselves. It is even less right for a person to ask others for ALL the answers to a competition when they cannot be bothered to try and answer themselves.
JimJools - it does indeed not state in the original post that there were just seven questions, but poorclare has given the answer to this 'Real people magazine' competition and this is proved in teacher1's link.
I repeat I am not against you giving the answers as you were not aware there WERE just seven questions. I most certainly am against those who have the audacity to believe it is right to ask others to help them win a competition when they have not tried to help themselves first.
