French bread
Leg breaks
Copper bottomed

No you are not losing your touch laracroft. I thought this one was quite difficult. A lot of lateral thought was required! Good luck

I struggled with this one all week too. If you need any more help please ask.
I'm struggling too. How do you get copper-bottomed from Bobby and Teddy (Kennedy?)

The Angers people was certainly 'lateral' thinking blueberry2.
I knew someone would ask that one! Obviously bobby = copper. It had to be 'bottomed' to follow, but to be honest I had spent SO long on this crossword that, for once, I didn't give it a lot more thought. I'd be interested in an explanation if anyone else has one.

Yes, the Angers clue was very clever

The bottom is from seat. Teddy is ed. Both together with copper = copper bottom ed. Copper bottomed = very safe or reliable.
Thanks teacher1 for analysis of 'bottomed'! Of course!

Thank you very much for your help and explanations.
Thanks teacher1 and blueberry2 for those answers. Of course 'bobby' is copper but there was some good 'misdirection' there with the connection between Bobby and Teddy!!!
