re earlier post 20d 6L bitterness on a ship thought it could be gallon then was given galiot just checked a site that gives solutions he says gallon in his grid apart from bitterness gall on cant put answers to clue any advice appreciated many thanks

Hi fozzies123, when I gave the suggestion Galiot it was with a ? just as a possible answer. In common with you I am also doubtful about Gallon, but perhaps somebody else may be able to elucidate?

And yes, GALL (bitterness)+ON is the answer.
