Reasons for banning
9 Answers
No doubt there are many asking for this, so I'll join the throng. Why is there no explanation for a question being banned? It seems daft since you may just keep making the same mistake over and over, without knowing why. I can't work out why one of my questions was banned - and when I entered the word/topic it in the search box there are plenty of other questions containing it, and discussing a similar topic which haven't been banned.

It may be that telling home truths affends too many of the readers. Just because they may not agree with the sentiments expressed is never a reason to ban it. If true that 3 ABers reporting it to be banned, the rules should be changed whereby a request for a ban should also include solid reasons and be mediated upon else we are in Stalin's Russia.
Or there is the other less well known reason but the one that befell me last night, i inadvertently overposted, in that i think i must have submitted too many replies too quickley within too short a time, and the built in anti-spamming feature of the site picked up on it and temprarily zapped my usual ID dot.hawkes, which is why tonight I appear in my abbreviated and slightly more formal ID of DotH. Ergo, i do not have another ID, just the same ID but shorter.

P.S. I have been at work all day and not had chance to email the ed or check if my ID is reinstated but I will do so right now.
