I am posting this question for the last time in the hope someone can put me out of my misery. There have been some answers but none which are totally logical to date?

The Old ------ used to sell ------- before they went out of fashion. Which two words that are anagrams of one another should complete the blanks in the above sentence so that it reads totally logically?

P.S I think the Capital O in Old must be significant.

Hi - Ref the number of letters in each word.Does the clue state how many? You show 5 hyphens and six.

Can only assume you didn't like Salopian and pianolas!

In reply to FRISKA just ignore the number of hyphens they are just used to show the blanks in the sentence.
Have spent ages on this. Like others before me the most logical I can come up with is costers and corsets but like you I understood a coster to sell fruit and veg, not corsets. If this is a quiz where you get the answers eventually I would really appreciate knowing what the answer is so please, please post it.
