55. What is the clue number? How many letters? . . .
jenniferd, the clue for 55 is NOT as you have typed it above. There is no full stop after the 55, thus making it part of the clue. (This is a regular feature of this quiz). The clue therefore reads:

55            (5)

Just say what you see.

Clue no. is 55 and then its blank and the answer is a 5 lettered leisure pursuit.
jenniferd, you put a full stop after 55 but there is not one in the clue, this is relevant.
75. think of an actor known as Sly.
81 I,m stuggling with this one.

81. Clues have already been given for this. The meaning of 'Race' has got nothing to do with competition. Think people.

75 Nothing to do with chat. You want one of the actor's CHARACTERS for most of the answer.

Goofy, even with "snakes alive" I'm still stuck (or clueless about) with 55.

How many letters? Write it doen.
What have you written down . . . . . ?
Don't they say things like "All the threes, thirty three"? at Bingo? Can't be sure myself as I never go.
No.55. There may be a few of us around who have actually played this game
Question Author
75. Having got very confuse between Sly and an american politician Arnold S think Ive got it. The word starts with C and the sly character follows. Please confirm I've got it!!!!!!!
55 Was I more likely to have gone to Eton to play this game?
Clue 55:

The clue is written as 55 (5)

.... so lots of FIVES in the clue!

Eton ----- is a hand-ball game, played in a three-sided court.

Clue 75:
The answer is a Victorian Parlour game-

Sly is the nickname of the actor Sylvester Stallone - known for two main roles .... Rocky and Rambo ...

Take one of these roles .... and put the letter C (circa) in front .... you now have your game!!

Clue 81:
Race as in people (6 letter word) .... sometmes Great Britain is called an Island N - T - - N

Put this word AROUND 'at' .... you now have an 8 letter answer that is an obscure word that means swimming (crawling is a reference to the swimming stroke, the crawl)
Jenipherd Yes but I did NOT go to Eton. As far as I remember there were two types of this game Rugby and Eton ! for what its worth
