Muffet (and annielaurie) It is absolutely impossible to set a Thematic Crossword in which EVERY clue follows the declared theme. It's not the same as a "Christmas Carol Quiz"!
You can check it out, but BROKER is the ONLY word that fits your letter pattern ( -r-k-r ). Finally, the Chambers Dictionary defines broker as "a person employed to buy and sell for others."
What more proof do you want?
