Does anybody know why I have to sign into the answerbank every time I use it , even though I've asked for my name and password to be remembered on my computer ? Does anyone else have this problem ?

Mine always says welcome back jan1956
are you blocking cookoes on your computer? as that would stop it remembering you.
if my son has a purge and deletes cookies i have to sign in again on many sites.
Hi teacher, afraid I am unable to offer any solution to your problem ... as I never have to sign in to gain access.
I am only posting this to confirm for you that direct access is indeed possible, but regret do not know why you have these difficulties.

Thanks for your answer jan1956, but I rarely delete cookies and have not done so recently. This has only been happening ths week.

Thank you for replying sarumite. There was no problem until last Saturday.
Since last Saturday I cannot post answers so I don't think you will get this!! something is wrong with this site
Hello teacher1, I have the same problem, which only started sometime over the last week., and it is a bit of a pain. Also, suddenly I cannot print from the internet. I have not deleted cookies or touch the settings at any time.
I have noticed of late that after midnight UK time, I have to sign in and presumed it was because it was a new day.
I have to give my password each time but I know that is because two of us are using the same computer and have different passwords. I think, but can't confirm right now, that you are asked by Answer Bank if someone else uses the machine so that would explain why I have to use my own password each time I sign in.
My biggest problem is with spam or ads or whatever you want to call them. I am settled on the AB and suddenly this ad for something takes over the screen and I've lost connection with the AB and of course then have to sign in again. Does anyone else have that particular problem?
we have a "pop up" blocker on ours but as my son put it on I am not sure what he did so cannot be of more help ontarioice

Jan: I too have a pop-up blocker and it seems to block everything but the ads that appear on the AB site. I get rather 'ticked off' when I'm about to ask/answer a question and suddenly I'm not on the AB site anymore. Don't understand it at all.
Try adding to your favourites when you are already logged in and that should take you straight in without logging on again - it works for me!

Or accessing it from an email you have been sent when you subscribe to a question or post one....

I have never had to log on since I started by doing one of the above. Good luck.
that makes sense cheaton as I access answerbank from favourites so that may be why I do not need to log in
hope it works teacher1

I'll try that now. Thanks.

No good ! It takes me to the site as before, but to use the site it still asks me to sign in !
Are you the only one using the computer?
Question Author
Hello ontarioice. Yes, I am the only one who has used the computer recently. Strange, isn't it ?
I'm not sure what you mean by having to sign in every time. When I mentioned the 'midnight sign-in' I meant that I had to give my username and my password. Do you mean username and password each time you want to access the AB site or just password?
Any other time when I go on the site I have to give my password. I presumed because two of us use the same computer, but that doesn't apply in your case.
I have the AB site in my favourites, but still have to give my password.
I'm going for lunch right now and when I sign on again, whenever that may be, I will have to give my password. Have never been able to access the AB site without signing in with password. Never bothered about it as thought it was a security measure.
But if you have to sing in with user name and password each time you want to enter I would query it with the site webmaster via the editor.

Thanks for your reply ontarioice. Yes, I still have to sign in with my username and password, whereas before I didn't. I might try your suggestion. Thanks again.
