Is anyone else doing this? I've found loads of collective nouns I didn't know before, i'ts been interesting. Why have they put Waterfowl down twice - is one supposed to be Wildfowl? Has anyone found anything for Mussels and Cockles other than 'bed'?

I was doing it but cant find my sheet. If I do I'll get back to you. I abandoned it cos there were far too many answers for each one and didnt see how anyone could possibly mark it as it said put down all you knew

smouse Yes, some of the animals etc have loads. I have managed to get them all in with my best tiny handwriting. One subject had 6. I reckon they'll give a mark for anything that corresponds with what they've got. Also they've put 'pochard', a duck with the 'fish and insect' group. That got me confused but then it doesn't take much!
cant find anything else except 'bed' for cockles and mussels (also bed is for mussels!)
Question Author
prospector Yes I did mean cockles and mussels separately. Thank you for your answer. I wonder why the compilers put them both in if the answer is the same for both. Maybe thereare some secret, underground collective names know only to a selected few! Perhaps a 'fitness' of mussels or a 'warmth' of cockles.
I agree Janbuck, in some sections i,ve had to write a seperate sheet with 10 or 11 answers for fish, & turkeys, perhaps they are collecting names to write a definitive book.

sniffer Oh you must be good - I only found one term for turkeys - rafter.
Janbuck take a look at this site under 'Birds' I think he has 9 collective nouns for turkeys.
