There was a music round in a quiz I entered and I can't stop thinking about it. The song ended with the words
"when Autumn leaves start to fall". Some of us thought it was September Song, the answer was given as" Autumn Leaves." Are these both the same song? Please put me out of my misery - it's driving me crazy.

They aren't the same song I'm afraid and the answer "Autumn leaves" is correct.

"September Song" does include the line
"When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame" which is maybe what you are thinking of.

Autumn leaves ens with the lines "But I miss you most of all my darling/When autumn leaves start to fall"
