Stuck on two, cryptic clues :

31. Frank (8) (somewhere between Morecambe and Clitheroe)

35. Pope (8) (somewhere between Chard and Fishguard)

Any ideas?

35. there was a pope called Nicholas and there is a town in south Wales called Nicholaston (it's the best I can find but I'm not sure...)

Thnak you very much for trying JMR27, but it's got to have 8 letters. I have gone through lists of popes and not seen anything yet, was trying to think of other well known Popes ie Alexander etc but couldn't come up with anything, but thanks again.
Pope is another term used for the ruff, a freshwater fish. Have tried looking again but have drawn a blank - similarly for 'frank'.

31) How about THORNTON, there is an actor called Frank Thornton who starred in Are You Being Served, and many more things, by the way Clitheroe is where I live. Good Luck.
