Need help find song/Tick Tock or Mardi Gras in my Head

I once heard a really good song I'm trying to find. I've googled variations of what I remember to no avail, so want help. The song sounds like smoky lounge music; the male singer has a raspy voice. The song has a strong 'tick/tock' beat to it. One lyric I remember for the song is 'Listen to the clock' but I'm not sure if the conclusion of the line is 'tick/tock' or 'strike 12.' However, I do not that one lyric from another song by the same artist is something like 'There's a Mardi Gras in my head.' Any help?
