An AB winner !

I have to tell somebody --- I've rung a couple of friends but nobody's home. I am busy having my breakfast and turn to the GK crossword in the DT and there staring out at me is my name -- I've won first prize !!!!!! I'm still shaking with excitement !!!
Sorry that it's tinged with the sadness of hearing about MM's sudden demise -- condolences to his family and those at the DT.

Yes, well done. So far I've not achieved more than runner up (on two occasions over many years). I might just keep on paying the Portuguese postage and hoping my Saturday DT Crossword Society cryptic gets there in time (can't get the G.K unfortunately)
